The genus Norovirus includes different species of noroviruses which have been found in humans and also in cattle pigs mice and oysters.
The human Norovirus ( also called Norwalk-Virus) infection and sometimes refered to as winter vomiting bug is characterized by diarrhea vomitting and stomach pain with possible fever and headaches. It is one of the most common causes for viral gastroenteritis.
It usually spread via the fecal-oral-route and common infection causes are contaminated surfaces (or hands) water or food.
